Sunday Night At Vanessi's

This has been a wonderful, slow and easy day. After church we had lunch with a dear friend. came home, took a little nap and then I got busy. Baked a cake for a family gathering, had cocktails at 5, and then joined friends at Vanessi's for dinner and entertainment. These photos tell the story about our night. The couple in the photo were our hosts last night . They are the Waldie's from Dallas/Santa Fe and we met them on our Mediterranian cruise last fall. They were on their honeymoon and love is still in bloom :-)
The first photograph is of Bill Worrell. He's a Nationally recognized local artist, poet and sculptor. We found out tonight that he also sings!
Sunday night is a special night at Vanessi's and Doug Montgomery, the pianist, invites certain local people from the audience to sing. It's always an exciting night with brilliant voices. Doug's web site is http://www.dougmontgomery.com/ and Bill's is http://www.billworrell.com/ . Look them up. You'll enjoy seeing and hearing their talents.
The final photograph is of Doug and Max McLean who performed The Confessions of St. Augustine for us last night. He leaves for New York in the morning and we're sad to see him go. His webpage is http://www.maxmclean.com/.
We all had a delicious dinner, great visit, good entertainment and closed the evening singing partiotic songs and waving flags. I'm really tired and going to bed now.
Love all of you! Pcasso

More photos will be coming soon. I've shot over 500 so far and we have lots more to do before it's over! The fat lady's not singing yet ;-) Glad you're enjoying them.

I might add that you were in the presence of not just a piano player but one of the finest and most entertaining pianists to ever tickle the ivories. Doug has a BA from Northwestern U. and a MA from Juilliard. He has a worldwide reputation and is extremely well known for his signature piece, Gershwins "Rhapsody in Blue" He plays concerts and gigs all over the US, some in Europe and is a featured artist on Crystal & Silver Cloud Cruise Lines. He is a tremendous talent and we are all very fortunate that he is so accessible but many people do not understand the measure of his talent.
