Dining in the Duke City

We had a wonderful time in Albuquerque 2 nights ago with Frank's nephew, Gary, his wife, Teresa, his niece, Sandy and Gary's Mother-in-Law, Bonnie. She prepared a wonderful four course meal for all of us and had set a beautiful table as you can see. We had gazpacho, salmon with mango salsa, twice baked potatoes and raspberry sorbet for desert with a great selection of wines. It was delicious.
Bonnie is a widow and her husband was a Judge. She is an artist and has sculpted some wonderful pieces. She said that it was always interesting for the neighbors to see him leaving for court in his business suit with his robes over his arm, and she would leave in combat boots, grubby clothes and a hard hat :-)
I have included photographs of two pieces of her work that I just love. The shoes are ones that she cast in bronzes from a pair of one of her grand children's baby shoes. She has entitled it "First Steps". She is the one who is hugging Frank in the photograph.
The last photograph is of the two of us with Sandy and Gary. Gary is a school superintendent and Sandy is a writer, producer and actress. There's a lot of talent in this family!
We are going to a private showing of an art and antique show tonight so it's time for me to go and get dressed. Since Walter Waldie is an antique and art dealer, we have been included on this special guest list. Santa Fe is always full of wonderful surprises. It should be a great evening.
This afternoon we saw "Oceans 13" and thoroughly enjoyed it. Nothing better than looking at good looking men! We saw Jindabyne a few days ago and it was very thought provoking. I'd recommend both of them. I'll write more when I have a little more time.
