A PLACE FOR EVERYTHING AND EVERYTHING IN IT'S PLACE

I'm sending these follow up photographs because I still find it hard to believe that they started on this job last Monday and this is Friday afternoon of the same week and they are finished!!! We can actually have dinner in our own kitchen tonight at our own kitchen table, rather than eating take-out food in the bar!

By Tuesday night I was asking myself what in the world have you gotten yourself into now, knowing they were coming to rip out the floors in the morning.
They removed those mammoth windows in the kitchen, replaced all the wood around them, re-installed the windows, painted the trim and stained the new wood.
While this work was going on, another crew was working in Frank's bathroom tearing out cabinets and walls, replacing a door and the painting everything. They did this in one day and then the floor people came and laid a new tile floor and a partial floor in the hallway where the water had ruined that floor.
It is now Wednesday and the floor people started tearing out the old wood floors in the dining room and kitchen. That took all day.
They also cleaned all the cement under the floor and floated some new concrete so the floor would be perfectly level. they started at 8:00 a.m. and finished at 8:00 p.m. that evening and didn't take a break even for lunch! They were back here at 9:00 yesterday morning and started cutting and laying the new hardwood floors. They finished at 7:30 last night and the floors look absolutely wonderful.
They returned this morning, put all the furniture back where it belongs and were gone by 10:00. There was a little film of sawdust in the kitchen, but very little as they cut the wood outside. They cleaned up after themselves and when they left you can barely tell that they had been here.

Frank and I put all the things back on the etigere, polished a little silver, wiped down all the countertops and are now back in business.

It's an absolute miracle and everything looks terrific as you can see.

Now that things are almost back to normal ( it's never really normal at our house!) I'll get back to Scandinavia in a day or two.
XOXO, Pcasso

I can't believe that it's behind us and that it took such a short period of time! I was really dreading it, but since it went so well and was basically no mess at all, I'd do it again (but not too soon ;-)

oh man, that would not be possible in spain. before they finished here you would be close to a nervous break down.
austria is better but still not that efficient.

I am really impressed.
